Our Crowdfunding Groups
The purpose of the HOSA organization is to promote leadership and career skills in health care professions by allowing members to obtain hands-on experience in a competitive and academic environment. Members of the organization have the opportunity to compete in dozens of various healthcare related events (such as CPR, pharmaceutical sciences, medical terminology, etc) at the state and international level. It is the goal of WSU HOSA to get a small number of our members to the International Leadership Conference (ILC) where they will then compete against teams from China, Puerto Rico, Spain, and more.
The ILC consists of thousands of HOSA members that are given opportunities to compete in events, attend workshops hosted by health professionals, attend career fairs, and meet future health professionals from around the globe! The location of the event alternates between Orlando Florida, and Houston Texas. To give WSU HOSA time to raise funds, our goal is to attend the 2022 ILC in June, Orlando Florida.
In order to compete at the ILC, HOSA members must first qualify at the State Leadership Conference (SLC). Fortunately, there is only one other Washington State team, and that is the UW HOSA team. This means that our HOSA members will be automatic qualifiers for the ILC. We want to get our members to the ILC so that WSU is represented at the international level as well!
The only thing standing between WSU and a spot at the ILC is the financial burden of attending. In order to compete, WSU HOSA members will need to pay the registration fee (roughly 100$), food, hotel, and possibly uniforms. We are fortunate enough to have our airline fees paid for, but we need support to cover the rest of the expenses.
A 20$ donation will get you a 30 second serenade from Matthew Ragsdale (HOSA President/not a great singer) on topic of your choice. Ridiculous song topics are completely welcome. A video of the serenade will be sent to you a few days after sending us the song topic.
This donation will cover the cost of half of the registration fee for one individual to get to the International Leadership Conference.
A donation of 100$ will get you a 60-90 second serenade from Matthew Ragsdale (president of WSU HOSA/ not a great singer) on any topic you want. Ridiculous song topics are completely welcome. A video of the serenade will be sent to you a few days after you send us the song topic. The 60-90 second serenade will provide a song that has more effort and detail put into it than the 30 second serenade. The 60-90 second serenade also consists of your choice of a mix of guitar, vocals, ukulele, and saxophone.
A donation of 250$ will get you a completely written original song by Matthew Ragsdale (WSU HOSA president/ not a great singer) on any topic of your choice. Ridiculous song topics are completely welcome. A video of the song will be sent a few days after you send us the song topic and any details you require. The full length song will be given a significant amount of time and effort. Full length songs consist of a mix of your choice of guitar, vocals, ukulele, and saxophone.
The largest expense that we will have to pay is the hotel fees for Orlando. A donation of $500 dollars will pay the hotel expenses for two members!
$1,000 should roughly cover the expenses for 2-3 WSU HOSA member to attend the ILC!
