The Apple Cup Food Pantry Challenge might be over, but you can still support our campus pantries on the WSU Foundation Website!
We did it, Cougs!
We did it, Cougs! Thanks to your generosity, WSU raised $12,677 for our campus food pantries!
But this isn’t just about bragging rights — it’s about making a real impact. Together, both schools raised $19,626 to support students facing food insecurity.
Rivalry with a purpose. Unity in action. Let’s keep fighting hunger — together.
Thank you, and as always, Go Cougs!
With 12 hours to go in the Food Pantry Challenge, Cougs have an early lead!
Cougs are showing up for the Boeing Apple Cup Food Pantry Challenge, and we can't thank you enough! You're not just supporting the Cougs, you're helping fight hunger for college students across Washington
Current Standings (as of 11:00 AM):
- Cougs: 106 gifts totaling $12,305
- Huskies: 67 gifts totaling $6,545
- Total: 173 gifts — already surpassing last year’s total of 117!
With just 12 hours left in the challenge, let's continue to spread the word! Last year, Cougs raised over $17,000 for the WSU Pullman pantry alone — let’s beat that and make an even bigger impact across all six participating WSU campuses.
Here's what's happening:
- All WSU campuses are participating and donations will be distributed based on student population.
- The challenge ends tonight at midnight, game day - Saturday, September 20.
- The challenge is based on the number of gifts. Every gift of any amount brings us closer to winning the challenge.
Help Spread the Word!
- Share the campaign with friends, family, and fellow Cougs.
- Download the Food Pantry Challenge Toolkit from the challenge website for:
- Social media graphics
- Sample posts
- Printable flyers for watch parties
Let’s show what Cougs can do, for our team and for students across the state.
Thank you and GO COUGS!
Thanks to you we're feeling the momentum!
Thanks to your generosity, we’re off to a strong start in the Food Pantry Challenge!
In just one week, Cougs from across the state have come together to support our students—and we’re feeling the momentum with Cougs making 39 gifts so far for $4,305. Your gift is helping ensure that no student goes hungry, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Here’s what’s happening:
- All WSU campuses are participating, and donations will be distributed based on student population.
- The challenge runs through September 20, with the winning university announced after the Boeing Apple Cup game.
- Every gift counts toward the challenge, and we’re still in the race to outpace UW! There is one week left before the challenge ends.
What you can do next:

- Encourage others to give—your voice can inspire even more support.
Thank you again for being part of this effort. Together, we’re turning rivalry into impact.
Go Cougs!
