Concrete Canoe
2025-26 Concrete Canoe
The goal of our project is to design, build, and race a fully buoyant canoe made out of concrete. We accomplish this through rigorous testing, experimentation, and trial over the course of the fall and spring semesters. In this process, we participate in a series of activities that mimic real-world project execution. This includes but is not limited to submitting a project proposal and RFIs, technical writing and presentation, design development, networking and collaboration, and construction. Finally, we get to race our product at the ASCE Regional Concrete Canoe Competition (hosted by University of Washington this year). This is a great opportunity to learn skills that are not attainable in the classroom while also sharpening problem-solving, teamwork, and networking skills. Additionally, this is the perfect opportunity to show some Cougar spirit in husky territory.
Donations will go directly into funding our project by easing the costs associated with testing different mix materials, completing construction, and transportation and lodging to attend competition. We greatly appreciate any donation! Go Cougs!
