8th Annual Prevention Science Poster Session
8th Annual Prevention Science Research Session
What We Do
The Prevention Science Graduate Student Organization (PSGSO) at Washington State University supports the next generation of prevention scientists dedicated to community-driven and culturally responsive work. Our members focus on advancing programs, practices, and policies that promote health and well-being across communities. We create opportunities for students to strengthen their research and presentation skills by participating in conferences, poster sessions, and other professional events where they can share their findings and connect with leaders in the field of prevention science.
Our Events
In the Spring semester, PSGSO hosts annual poster sessions. This year, due to considerations of cost and accessibility, we will be hosting this research session in a symposium format, with participants giving a brief presentation on their research. Graduate students affiliated with PSGSO and/or WSU will be invited to submit an abstract to the session. The research session provides an opportunity to enrich students’ academic experiences, practice professional presentation and engagement skills, and a social event that bolsters connectedness with each other. Students will be able to showcase their scholarly work and receive feedback from peers, faculty, and the general WSU community.

Event Refreshments
Your contribution will help us provide light refreshments for our event attendees. We expect to host around 100 faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students, and your support ensures we can offer a welcoming environment where participants can connect, refuel, and continue engaging in meaningful conversations about their research. Even a small donation goes a long way toward creating a warm and hospitable atmosphere—thank you for helping us make this event more enjoyable for everyone!

Event Space and Accessibility
Your gift helps us cover the cost of reserving an on-campus venue and providing Zoom capabilities for remote participation. We’re committed to making this research session accessible to all—whether attendees join us in person or online. Thank you for helping us create a space—both physical and virtual—where ideas can be shared and connections can grow!

Sponsor a Graduate Student
Help us bring graduate students from other campuses to our research event! Your contribution at this level supports travel reimbursements, enabling students who might not otherwise have the means to attend to participate, present their work, and engage with peers and faculty. Thank you for investing in the next generation of scholars!
