Wazzu "Racing" Their Way to Formula SAE
Wazzu Racing annually represents Washington State University at Formula SAE (FSAE); a collegiate design competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers. This competition is based on a formula race car that students have the opportunity to design and build. By competing, students are challenged to apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems which, in turn, bolster their ability to communicate and work in teams. The program is made up of over 35 students from various majors and class standings. As such the leadership roles in the team further demand an ever-improving capacity to manage projects and cross-functional teams.
This year, Wazzu Racing plans to compete at FSAE California, the cost for which to register is beyond what we can currently afford. Any and all donations help our team continue to build better communicators, problem-solvers, and leaders. Which ultimately showcases the high caliber of individual that WSU produces.
$15

This should cover the cost for a single meal for a student at the competition
$25
Team Shirts
Part of going to competition is representing our sponsors, while also looking professional. This would cover the cost of a single competition shirt
$45
Half Gas for Vans
While at competition we will have to rent a van for transportation. This should cover half of the gas costs while we are there.
$80

$175
Flight to Competition

In addition to members flying to competition, the car must also be driven/towed. This should cover about HALF of the cost of gas from Seattle to California (one-way)
$300
ECU (Electronic Control Unit)
Our ECU is pretty old and possibly fried. We could definitely use a new one; heat shrink and solder can only fix so much!
$350

Tires are one of the most expensive parts of the vehicle and we struggle to replace them every year. This would cover the cost of a single tire on the vehicle.
$350
