STEM Futures: An Evening of Innovation
Description
The STEM Leaders and Innovators Association (SLIA) is a registered student organization at Washington State University dedicated to empowering students to explore, lead, and innovate within STEM fields. Our mission is to create inclusive, supportive spaces where students can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Funds raised through CougStarter directly support student-centered workshops, networking opportunities, and professional events designed to help students prepare for competitive careers in STEM. These experiences focus on professional readiness and interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring WSU students gain practical skills while building a strong, lasting community.
Your support allows SLIA to elevate our cornerstone initiatives. Building on the success of our previous STEM Futures event, which brought students and industry professionals together in an interactive walk-and-talk format, we are expanding our vision this year into a formal dinner and evening gala. This enhanced format provides an elevated, seated setting where students can share a meal with industry leaders, faculty, and alumni, engage in deeper mentorship conversations, and practice formal professional networking.
By donating, you help cover venue arrangements, dinner catering, and program resources, making this signature experience accessible to students across campus at no personal cost. Your generosity directly helps students build professional poise, plan for their futures, and step forward as the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators!
