Higher Education For All

The McNair Scholars Student Club (MSSC) at Washington State University is dedicated to building a community for students interested in research, graduate education, and professional development.

For many students, especially those who are first-generation or come from limited-income backgrounds. Pursuing research opportunities and graduate education can feel overwhelming. MSSC works to make these opportunities more accessible by connecting students with resources, mentorship, professional development, and a community of peers who share similar goals.

Our club currently has 20 active members, and we are continuing to create opportunities that help students grow academically, professionally, and personally.

Our Goal: Raise $2,000

Through CougStarter, we hope to raise $2,000 to help reduce financial barriers and expand the opportunities we provide to our members.

Your contributions will help support:

• Research and Graduate School Preparation: Resources and programming that help students explore research opportunities and prepare for graduate education.

• Professional Development: Workshops, networking opportunities, and events that help students build skills for their academic and professional futures.

• Student Events and Programming: Educational activities that bring students together and create a supportive environment.

• Materials and Supplies: Resources needed to make our events and programming accessible to students.

Why Your Support Matters

For many of our members, having access to a supportive academic community can make a meaningful difference in their college experience. Your donation helps us continue building a space where students can connect, learn from one another, and gain confidence in pursuing their goals.

Whether you are a McNair alumni, WSU graduate, faculty or staff member, family member, or someone who believes in supporting students, your contribution can help us make these opportunities possible.

Help us reach our $2,000 goal and invest in the next generation of scholars. Go Cougs!
